I made this cake for a rock n' roll themed birthday party.
A hobby I love to do and share with others. The best part is they taste as great as they look!

DC Modern Quilt Guild Fabric Party
I have a new favorite cake that I have made, and it is this one. I loved having the opportunity to create a quilt cake. I even had a dream about what it should look like. I loved adding all the detail and even enjoyed making the spools of thread and the needle.
Here is a picture of the quilt before I put it on the cake and before I added some of the highlights to the different "fabrics".The following pictures are of the cake all assembled and on site at the DC Modern Quilt Guild Fabric party. I know I already said this, but I loved doing this cake!!

Racers, Start Your Engines!!
My son just turned four and he was very excited to have a race car birthday cake. As we started looking at pictures and trying to decide what to make, he decided he wanted a race track instead. He also told me he wanted the track to be the number four because he will be four years old. Another must was that the blue car had to be the winner. So here is our number four race track, with the blue car about to win the race.

Demonstration cake
I was asked to do a fifteen minute demonstration for a "Christmas in July" activity. So, I made a Christmas present. I did all my prep work at home so that all I had to do at the demonstration was cover the cake in the fondant and add the bow and snowman. It was a fun experience and I was grateful for the opportunity!

Groom's Cake
This was my first groom's cake. Groom's cakes have a theme that represent a hobby or interest that the groom has. This cake was music themed. The groom sang for the Harvard Glee Club. A song that they sing is "Glorious Apollo", so that is what he wanted on his cake. After many hours of measuring, drawing and figuring out how exactly to do that, I came up with this:

A World Wide Sisterhood
I made this cake for the women's organization for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were having a birthday celebration for when the Relief Society was created. The theme for the evening was "A World Wide Sisterhood" So I came up with this idea:
I marbled the blue fondant to make it look like the earth as if you were looking at it from space with a mix of clouds and water.
