Here is a picture of the quilt before I put it on the cake and before I added some of the highlights to the different "fabrics".
A hobby I love to do and share with others. The best part is they taste as great as they look!

DC Modern Quilt Guild Fabric Party
I have a new favorite cake that I have made, and it is this one. I loved having the opportunity to create a quilt cake. I even had a dream about what it should look like. I loved adding all the detail and even enjoyed making the spools of thread and the needle.
Here is a picture of the quilt before I put it on the cake and before I added some of the highlights to the different "fabrics".
The following pictures are of the cake all assembled and on site at the DC Modern Quilt Guild Fabric party. I know I already said this, but I loved doing this cake!!

I've been waiting for this post...seriously Deanna AMAZING! I can't believe it!
I love it.
Ditto Sonja!!! Seriously Amazing.
That is awesome!!
Fantastic! My mom quilts, and I'm planning to make a quilt cake for her birthday. How did you create the shapes and assemble the fondant quilt? Also, how did you create the needle and thread? Any suggestions you could provide would be much appreciated!
